Space, Science & Other Things

Elementary (K-8) Interactive Space Show - "FUN approach and strategy for teaching science, math, music and language arts to elementary and middle school students. The book is a manual for presenting a 1 ½ hour “Interactive, Chemistry/Physics Show” for a multitude of audiences from Preschool through 8th grade, integrating the subjects using a space science theme…a show filled with science, magic, music, aliens, experiments, as well as directions for building a mission control panel, alien costumes, student uniforms, building a space shuttle cabin that holds about 24 students or more, along with using 110+ audience participants. Twenty-one chapters are filled with instructions and step-by-step directions, dialogue, diagrams, pictures, suggested activities, objectives, experiments, sample letters, permission forms and certificates to help guide teachers to be creative in their teaching to be able to present the show to their schools.

*For privacy reasons, student faces have been blocked out.

Move over Harry Potter...because science is magic...or is it? After eight years of performing my space show for children around the world, I have written a manual, Space, Science and Other Things, for you to be able to do the entire show, step-by-step, word-for-word and experiment-by-experiment. Check out the preview and look at the table of contents for what’s included in the manual. All children love aliens and astronauts; so get the book, present the show and get children fired up about science. The show uses about 120 audience volunteers to come up on stage and do basic science experiments, while you impress and wow them with scientific principles, while hidden aliens make sudden appearances sending the audience into screaming frenzies.  Parents and Boy Scouts can use the book to do the many experiments and to build the mission control board and awesome space shuttle with the directions from U.S. Space Camp. Directions for building three different size shuttles are included. The show lasts about 1 ½ hours and the book has the music and directions for all of the magic tricks, plus where to purchase supplies if needed. I will walk you through the entire show and pass on my tips to you. Use as much of the book as you need for your production and most of all; add your own spark of creativity to the performance. You will have to spend an initial fee to purchase some materials for the show, but then the materials will be yours to keep.

Teachers are always looking for ways to enhance their lessons and to make learning fun and relevant for their students. As a science teacher, my idea was to use a space show theme to get students motivated about science. My show included a lot of my favorite experiments from my classroom. Over the years I have presented the show with my first, second and fifth grade students in Las Vegas, Guam, Hungary and London.

I have also done the show at other schools without my classroom students and only used audience participation. The audience has been as large as five hundred students and parents, to as little as forty students. U.S. Military members serving overseas would always pitch in and help with the sound system and help with playing the aliens in the show (U.S. Marines and other air force officers). Requests from teachers to have a book about the show (so they could remember all of the experiments for their classroom) encouraged me to write a teacher’s manual for other teachers. Space Camp in Huntsville, AL, gave me a license to use their logos in the book to make student uniforms. Currently, teachers from four schools in my area are using the book and will do the space show at their schools this spring.

Somewhere Out There

Time Travel Romance -

An Extraordinary Man...An Extraordinary Twist of Fate...An Extraordinary Love Story!

Somewhere out there in this world it seems,

Love awaits me in my deepest dreams.

Through the boundaries of time he came to me,

To fulfill his endless destiny.

Somewhere out there,

Someone heard my prayer,

And blessed me with his love so rare.

"Somewhere Out There" Song by LindaRonstadt and James Ingram

She and her friend Sara travel to London to look over Mary Ann’s inheritance and make arrangements to sell her half to her cousin, Richard Downing. Sara falls in love with a portrait of Damien at Whitehall Manor and is shocked to meet him when he travels through time. Can Damien once again try to save his home and his life from the descendent of the man who tried to kill him in the past?

Passionate Seduction, ShockingDeceit and Grand Adventure!   7 Apr 2006 byMaryann Humberger

The story is a spellbinding timetravel voyage, filled with passionate seduction, shocking deceit and grand adventure. The love scenes are tasteful, yet lusty and amorous. The characters are well-rounded and believable. The adventure is very fast paced with action upon action making the reader want to continue to see what will happen next. I was drawn into the romance when Sara first stared into Damien’s eyes in his portrait. I was excited when they first meet in the woods. I felt Sara’s apprehension as she realized that the duke had traveled through time and her imaginary love was very much alive as held her down on the ground andtook his first kiss from her. I felt disgust for Richard Downing as well as his descendent and wondered what they would do to rid their lives of the young duke. As I read the story, I empathized with the hero coming to my own conclusion on what would happen to him and was surprised and anxious upon the conclusion. If you want an enjoyable, yet highly sexual adventure, then read the book and  take pleasure in the happy ending. Damien’s dark good looks will capture your heart from the first chapter and will become an unforgettable hero.

Spellbinding...True Page Turner    21 May 2006 by Charles Spencer

An outstanding read that had me literally spellbound!  Normally not enamored with romance novels since I am a Tom Clancy fan, but this book was the exception.  Author obviously spent time researching and relaying authenticity of the time period ranging from the character's clothing to the locale; I should know because I live in London! Plot is well developed and logical yet one cannot guess where the story and characters are going. Superb story and I recommend it highly.  Do hope that a sequel is coming. Cheers.

An Excellent Read     20 Jan 2006 by David Roberts    An excellent read, for lovers of Romantic Novels, with a fascinating interweave of characters and time journeying. Best wishes for your sales – who knows, maybe future T.V.or film rights also!

A wonderful tale     31 Dec 2005 byAngela Hooper

Somewhere Out There is a delightful, charming love story, with a different theme - our lovers are brought together across time, their lifestyles years apart, but their love is timeless. A beautiful story, with smugglers, highwayman, old fashioned love, modern romance, and a dramatic ending.  A great book to read.

Awesome Book! I couldn't put it down    13 Dec 2005 by Betty Cam

The story is very fast paced and exciting with lots of twists and turns. Loved the way it shifted to the future and had a happy ending. Was late for work because I just kept wanting to read the book. A perfect love story that made me feel good.

Back of Book

“Damien, if I may call you that, this will seem strange to you, but you must listen. Somehow nature has played a terrible trick on you. There was no storm last night. Look around you. Everything is dry. When the lightning struck you it sent you into the future, your Grace. It’s not the nineteenth century anymore. The date is June 26, 2005. You have traveled through time one hundred and sixty—six years.” Sara declared. Damien now knew the young woman was definitely insane,  ‘travel through time indeed’ he thought. But there was something in her eyes that told him she was not insane and was telling him the truth. That would explain a lot of things. Lord Downing’s men were right on top of him when the lightning struck and would surely have captured him even if he was thrown from Black Jack. That would explain why he was still wet from the rain and the ground looked as if it had not rained in days. But that was absurd. People did not travel through time, especially into the future. That would be the wildest stretch of his imagination
